Jane Gorman was born in Canada to an English father and Polish mother. The family moved to the United States only a few years later, where Gorman grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Gorman worked briefly in academia after completing a doctorate in Cultural Anthropology, then shifted gears to become a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State, representing U.S. interests at international organizations. During her education and early career, Gorman was a Fulbright Fellow at Warsaw University, a Woodrow Wilson Institute Junior Scholar, and an American Association for the Advancement of Science Diplomacy Fellow.
After settling down with a job in the National Park Service, Gorman turned her pen to subjects long near to her heart: murder and mystery. Her first novel, A BLIND EYE, is set in Poland. Later novels in the series send Detective Adam Kaminski to Washington, DC, Philadelphia and Galway, solving murders only he can solve. Her newest series of Cozy Mysteries are set in Cape May, N.J., a town where Gorman has spent many happy hours. Gorman lives, once again, in Cherry Hill with her husband.
